The Secret Garden by Katie Fforde
Yet another fabulous book from Katie Fforde. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Set in the Cotswolds, the story centres around Philly and Lorna who work at a large house. Philly thinks she has her heart set on Peter.... and Lorna finds love unexpectedly. The course of true love doesn't run smoothly....and there are several surprises and hurdles for the characters to overcome. As usual Katie Ffordes creates a warm, satisfying read.

ReviewLast updated on 01 Jan 2017An excellent read. Was hooked from the start. Told from two perspectives....Past and present- with a twist that I didn't see coming. Quite chilling, strangely stalkerish. Would highly recommend, couldn't put it down, don't want to give too much away! |

ReviewLast updated on 12 Nov 2016Absolutely devoured this book. Love Amanda Browse as an author so was thrilled to get access to her new novel. Very clever writing. Not an easy read if you know someone who is or has suffered from this problem- don't want to give too much away. Amanda's writing explores the real pain and suffering that an eating disorder causes. She does this brilliantly, managing to capture each family members anguish and struggle to deal with the issue. Freya wants the best for her daughter, Lockie the father is distraught but wants a practical solution that pulls no punches, Charlotte the older sister is supportive and Lexi is encompassed by the monster that is anorexia........there is no real solution and the struggle continues but the ending brings some comfort. Would highly recommend this book. An emotional rollercoaster. |

ReviewLast updated on 22 Feb 2017Haven't been able to put this down. As usual great writing from Catherine Alliot, you won't be disappointed! Well drawn characters. The story follows the hapless Molly, living in the country - one of her husband's dreams. Sadly her husband dies and leaves Molly wondering how to overcome a myriad of problems. Out of the blue a distant relative dies and leaves Molly in a quandry.......The problems change and include one very dishy man!! A great read read. Very enjoyable, highly recommend. |

ReviewLast updated on 13 Mar 2017A brilliant read. Heartwarming and hilarious, telling the story. Of three sisters, Dee, Rose and Fleur and their mothers attempts from beyond the grave to bring them closer together. Well written and with some surprises, this was the sort of book that i was disappointed to finish. I got totally immersed in the lives and emotions of the three women. The characters well realistic and believable. Without giving too much away this book will send your emotions sinking as well as soaring. Highly recommend |
